Movie Review: Friends with Benefits

Jared and I have seriously cut back on our movie watching. We actually cancelled our blockbuster online subscription when they closed most of the stores, which meant we weren't able to make in-store exchanges anymore...and we've stopped going to the theater on a regular basis due to the rising prices, and unpleasant experiences- such as a musty smelling theater (apparently they just cleaned the carpet...we ended up leaving because it triggered my asthma), and EXTREMELY loud sound (you know it's bad when you half-deaf husband says it's loud).

Today however, we decided to go to a different theater (Carmike)- one that is actually really close to us, has lowered prices and offers deals such as $1 pop and popcorn on Tuesday or $5 off a large popcorn and pop combo.

We ended up seeing "Friends with Benefits" staring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake (my celebrity crush). To be perfectly honest, you basically get what you expect with this movie. It wasn't bad, but obviously it isn't life changing either. This movie is funny, the chemistry between Mila and Justin is definitely good...and of course, the movie ends how you think it will.

Although, as a Christian I struggle with how much emphasis is put on sex in both movies and television shows today...there are just so many other aspects of a relationship and the development of self that I think it is just ridiculous that the media has to focus so much on the physical chemistry between two people.

I also don't buy it when celebrities say that sex/romantic scenes don't effect them, or their real life relationships because there are so many people watching you that it is just awkward...I don't believe you can be thatclose to someone and not have some sort of physical or emotional connection.
