My Yoga Challenge: Days 3 & 4

Wednesday

-Fitness Yoga @ Shoreview YMCA

After a bad day at work, I headed to the gym hoping that yoga would be sort of a reset button for my day…

 

Unfortunately, relaxation was not on the agenda for this particular class…I did not care for the instructors style. I didn’t feel like each side of my body was worked equally which probably had a lot to do with the fact that she kept forgetting which side we had just focused on. Needless to say, it was pretty frustrating and I was actually looking forward to the end of class Sad smile

 

Thursday

-Yoga for bedtime relaxation @ home

I was feeling pretty sore from three days in a row of 1 hour yoga classes, so I let my body rest and focused on how to use yoga to help me sleep. So I watched the following video a few times and then did the exercises and used the breathing techniques at my own pace while I was in bed.

I feel asleep pretty quickly, however due to the fact we had a heat index in the low 100’s yesterday and I don’t have air conditioning I can’t say I got the most peaceful night of sleep.

 

I think yoga is helping with some lower back pain that I get intermittently. I use to sleep on my stomach all the time, but haven’t been able to in the past year or so...last night I gave it a try, and ended up sleeping on my stomach most of the night on my back without any problems. So maybe all the hamstring stretching I have been doing lately is helping?!
