In bible study, we are reading the book of Acts and learning about the Holy Spirit.
During our last discussion question we are always basically asked in what way can the rest of the group pray for you in regards to what we have learned this week, and one response has completely changed my attitude on how I should be praying for others...
One of the ladies in my bible study group asked that this week we pray that she has more boldness in prayer- instead of telling other people she will pray for them she wants us to pray that she will have the courage to offer them prayer right then and there.
How awesome would that be if we started to lift one another up in prayer immediately after we heard their cry? What if instead of praying privately, when we are most comfortable, we prayed outload so that the individual we what to lift up can hear our petition to God, and prayer for their relief and protection.
How often do you tell someone that you will pray for them, and them forget about it? I know I am guilty of doing this way too often, or only praying for the person once...
I want to change the way I pray for others. I need to change the way I pray for others.
My goals:
- Start praying for people on the spot when I recognize their need, or they ask for help
- Make weekly list of people that I need to pray for and keep it in a place I am guaranteed to see it at least twice a day (my bathroom)
- If I tell someone via their blog, a discussion board, Facebook or some other form of social networking that I am going to pray for them- send them a message or e-mail containing the contents of my prayer
Leave me a comment with your e-mail address, or send me a private e-mail via the link on the right side of my page and I will send you a copy of my prayer for you.

What a terrific idea! I tend to be shy and internalize a lot when it comes to emotions. This would be a good opportunity to come out of my shell and connect more.
