You Look Fresh

I think telling someone that they look fresh is one of the most awkward things you can say to a person...and I cannot count how many times someone has said this to me since I have become a nurse.

To me, "You look fresh" means "Hey! You shower and sleep. Way to go!" Seriously though, how am I suppose to reply to a comment like that? Because I'm not convinced it is a compliment...apparently I don't look good, or cute. I just look rested and clean.

So I smile and say...

"I think it's the color I'm wearing."

or

"I sleep well."
